Poem: Cafe 10 and Sycamore Deli

I have been chewing on this one since May.  My favorite place to right, Cafe 10 in Richmond, has closed and I did not know until it was gone. Around the same time Sycamore Deli in Blacksburg, VA which used to be one of my favorite places to write also closed.

  1. May be a bad omen for independent establishments.
There is always room to type at the Mill Mountain Star in Roanoke. If the benches are still below the star. The deck at the star can be quite busy.

    1. That's quite a drive! Ironically the place I wrote this poem above was Mill Mountain Coffee in Blacksburg.

  2. bugger. I'm still smarting from the closing of my favorite Chinese place that still served Tiki drinks off a 1960's cocktail menu. Place was a time capsule run by awesome people. Appreciate what you have while it's around, I say. (:

  3. I miss my favorite ABQ coffee shop, Winning Coffee, the inspiration for a number of short stories. As Ted says, enjoy them while they're open.

  4. Nice poem. Come down to Asheville and let's find a new place to colonize. I've yet to have the guts to type in public, but there are plenty of spots to choose from.

    1. Thank you! I will be your guts for your first time to two! You gotta find a noisy spot and then all that's left is to sit down and whip it out.
