A Post That Isn't About Typewriters?!?

Got the projector to play something!  I need to learn more about it (I know the film is in backwards) but getting a picture from it was pretty exciting!

  1. Oh sweet!

The lenses on these things were set up specifically for the room they were to be used in, and can unscrew and be changed for a different setup. Looking at the throw distance and the size, this was made for roughly classroom size.

That's great that you got it going!

  2. You know... I was scratching my head wondering - why you thought it was backwards. Only to then realize that the steering wheel was on the right side of the car. Which, it wouldn't have been in the USA. Seemed normal to me until my brain clicked in that this was another country.

    1. It is also backwards because the text is backwards, which you can see at the end if you look close ;)

  3. Cool! And kind of eerie.

    I like your fan too.

    1. I love the fan! It's new, but looks vintage. I didn't even ask for it but I secretly wanted one when my folks brought it as one of a handful of housewarming gifts when I moved this July.

  4. Awesome! I have several bits of recovered technology in the garage waiting for playtime. The slide projectors are cued up with Star Wars images and bits recovered from other people's lives. I have yet to find an 8mm reel for my slightly newer Keystone projector. There is also a 16mm rig from the '60s I've been watching at a flea market. I hope the owner will cut a deal at some point.

    1. No reels on eBay? Maybe 16mm is common, I know little about these machines. My folks found it at an antique store and new it was something I'd enjoy playing with.
